Scioly.org is a collaborative site that exists because of the work of volunteers like you. If you are looking to make contributions to the wiki, this page lists the wiki pages and jobs that require the most immediate attention. If you believe a page is included on here that has already been fixed and no longer needs substantial work, please contact a staff member. They may be contacted most easily through private message on the forums or on Discord.

Overview

Simple Jobs

• Update state pages with tournament dates for the current season.
• Create a team page for your school or add information if it already has one (see the Team of the Week page for ideas).
• Update existing team pages if they have results tables that are outdated as of the most current season.
• Upload results for tournament pages that lack them.
• Add appropriate links to dead-end pages.
• Find external links (commonly found at the end of event pages) that just have a URL and format them to include a description of the linked website, replacing or removing any broken links.
• Add second- and third-place finishers to state tournament results boxes on state pages where they are missing but results are available.
• Add to or update the list of teams on state pages.
• Add section headers to event pages for topics not currently addressed by the pages.

Intermediate Jobs

• Add information needed by incomplete pages, especially pages listed below as needed for the current season.
• Update outdated pages with changes to the rules, especially pages listed below as needed for the current season.
• Find and lengthen stubs or other short articles.
• Add new or expand existing trial event pages, and expand the list of trial events.
• Add categories to uncategorized pages or uncategorized templates.
• Create pages for invitational tournaments and regional tournaments (see Regions of Michigan and the regional tournament pages for Pennsylvania and New Jersey for examples). A list of invitationals for the current season can be found on soinc.org.

Advanced Jobs

• Add unused files to pages that they correspond with or delete unnecessary ones.
• Add and verify the states to the qualifying schools listed in the 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991 National tournament pages. See National Results History's talk page for details.
• Add documentation to various templates - example
• Add introductions to state pages that lack them.
• Find old tournament results and scoresheets where they are missing. The forum archives and the Wayback Machine can be starting points.
• Fix broken math statements on pages that have them.

2026 Events That Need Work

• Anatomy/Sense Organs - needs information about disorders, as well as general cleanup (e.g. merging eye sections, adding more sub-headers)
• Anatomy/Endocrine System - needs information about hormonal mechanisms, regulation, and disorders, as well as endocrine organs and their respective hormones
• Boomilever - needs current construction and scoring parameters added
• Bungee Drop - needs some cleanup, particularly with images and fixing of broken LaTeX
• Chemistry Lab/Kinetics#Reaction Conditions - needs explanation of why these relationships to reaction rate occur
• Codebusters - has broken math that needs fixing
• Dynamic Planet/Oceanography - needs some cleanup, particularly with images
• Electric Vehicle - scoring parameters, including the can bonus, needs to be updated or added
• Engineering CAD - could use information about accessing and using Onshape
• Entomology/Entomology Insect List - its subpages will need to be updated for changes in the insect list
• Helicopter - needs updates for current season's scoring
• Metric Mastery - needs update for new scoring rules
• Mission Possible#Yearly Task - needs update for current year's starting/ending task
• Potions and Poisons#Poisonous Plants and Animals - will need to be updated for current year's list
• Remote Sensing - will need updates to reflect Division B rules as well, in addition to some general cleanup
• Robot Tour - needs current track setup and scoring/bonus information
• Rocks and Minerals - needs updates to reflect recent changes to this season's official list
• Scrambler - needs information regarding bucket bonus
• Solar System and Solar System/Missions - needs updates to reflect current rules

Pages that need regular edits each season

Certain types of pages will typically need updates once per year. The table below lists these pages or page categories by approximately when new updates will be needed.
