The 2023 Wisconsin State Competition was held on April 1st, 2023 at UW-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI. 42 regular teams and 14 exhibition teams competed in division C, while 22 teams with 25 exhibition competed in division B. The winners were Marquette High School for division C and Hamilton Middle School for division B.

Results

Division B

Hamilton Middle School got first for their 13th consecutive state title. Menomonie Middle School was the runner-up, followed by Boyceville Middle School with the bronze. Waunakee Middle School finished 4th, their first time in the top five since 2018. Madison Country Day School achieved their first top five finish with fifth place.

Division C

Marquette University High School triumphed for their third year in a row, narrowly defeating Madison West High School by 8 points, the closest margin since 2016. The top two schools dominated, combining for 20 gold and 17 silver medals. Their scores of 41 and 49 were the 3rd- and 4th-lowest scores recorded under the modern 23-event system. Menomonie High School finished in the top 3 for a 17th consecutive time and Boyceville High School finished in the top 4 for a 14th consecutive time. Slinger High School achieved their second consecutive fifth place, and Hudson High School achieved their first-ever trophy at state with a 6th-place finish.
