The state of North Carolina has multiple regional tournaments, which serve as qualifiers for the state tournament. The majority of regional tournaments combine Divisions B and C, except for Cullowhee and Laurinburg, which only serve Division B. The exact number of state bids for each region is unknown, but larger tournaments may receive around 6 bids per division.

As of the 2019 season, teams are allowed to register at any regional tournament regardless of location, but they are subject to the approval of the state board. North Carolina also offers the National Ready Regional for top performers in the state.

2020-2021 Season B & C Regional Tournaments

All tournaments serve both B & C teams (except for the Division C National Ready Regional) and are held with the Mini SO format, which the exception of the Satellite tournament, which is being held using the Satellite SO format.
