Strath Haven High School is located in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. The team currently participates in the Southeast region of Pennsylvania. They had an extended run of success in the first half of the 2010s, placing in the top 5 of the state five times, including every year from 2013 to 2016. They are fed by Strath Haven Middle School, which has historically been very successful in Division B.
History
Strath Haven High School's program started in 2004, two years after the Middle School's program began. They slowly improved in the strong Southeast region before qualifying for states for the first time in 2007. In their first states appearance, they placed 14th. This began a 10-year streak of qualifying for the state tournament.
2010s
Strath Haven's greatest period of success came between 2010 and 2016. During this time, they never finished lower than 7th at states, and thrice finished as high as 4th. They scored fewer than 200 points every year from 2013 to 2016, with an all-time low of 171 points at the 2014 Pennsylvania State Tournament. This was also the closest they came to qualifying for nationals, finishing only 38 points behind second-place Harriton High School.
In 2017, Strath Haven placed 9th at regionals, missing states for the first time since 2006 and beginning a down period for the program. They remained in or near the top 10 of the region, but only qualified for states once during this time (2021).
Recent Years
After a program-worst 17th-place finish at regionals in 2023, Strath Haven came back strong, qualifing for the 2024 state tournament by placing 5th in the Northeast regional. Although their states placement of 21st place was below their past standard, it served as the foundation for a very strong 2025 season. They finished 6th in the Southeast regional, their best placement in that regional since 2020, and placed 11th at the 2025 state tournament. This was their best placement since the end of their peak period in 2016.
