Science Olympiad Spirit Award

Not to be confused with Mary K. Masterson Memorial Spirit Award.

The Science Olympiad Spirit Award (formerly known as the Lockheed Martin Spirit Award) is awarded to one Division B team and one Division C team at each National Tournament to "recognize students and coaches that have a positive attitude, exemplify teamwork, have respect for the rules and their fellow competitors, and exhibit sportsmanlike conduct." The award comes with a $2,000 prize, sponsored by the Science Olympiad USA Foundation. Prior to 2022, the prize was sponsored by Lockheed Martin. The spirit award is one of the oldest special awards in Science Olympiad.
