About Us
Jordan High School is a Division C team located in Fulshear, Texas. The team was founded in 2020 upon the school's opening. All students from Adams Junior High School and some students from Seven Lakes Junior High School feed into JHS. The school hosts the Jordan Science Olympiad B/C Invitational since 2024.
History
2020-2021 Season
2020-2021 marks the debut of the team with members comprised of Seven Lakes Junior High School, Adams Junior High School, and Tays Junior High School Alumni from 9th-10th Grade. Due to the online format and lack of upperclassmen, the team struggled to find consistent results, medaling sparsely at each tournament and placed 7th at the Texas State Tournament.
2021-2022 Season
The 2021-2022 season can be considered the "breakout year" for Jordan Science Olympiad. Leading up to the Texas State Tournament, Jordan became a serious contender for the 2nd Nationals Bid after consistently placing above more established teams in the Texas region but ultimately placed 3rd at state, losing to Seven Lakes High School and Clements High School. Although the team fell short at the State tournament, overall, the season can be seen as a success when considering the high placements throughout the years, the lack of seniors on the team, as well as the improvements displayed over the previous year. Events of note include the biology events: Anatomy and Physiology, Botany, and Cell Biology- all of which saw consistent high placements throughout the year. Wright Stuff also saw considerable success placing 2nd 6 times but unfortunately never achieved the coveted 1st place placement during the season.
2022-2023 Season
The 2022-2023 season was the first year the team had seniors and a third team was introduced. In the fall semester, Jordan had become incredibly successful and surprisingly managed to beat Seven Lakes High School to get 1st at Cypress Falls Invitational. Going into the 2nd semester, there were high hopes for a 1st place finish at the Texas State Tournament above teams like Seven Lakes High School and Clements High School, however, the team would once again fall short and place 4th. Despite the team's drop at the end, Jordan had done phenomenally in invitationals across the year, especially with a remarkable 2nd place at BirdSO Invitational.
2023-2024 Season
The Jordan Science Olympiad team went into the 2023-2024 season with high hopes for a potential national qualification. In the first semester, Jordan performed phenomenally at the Cypress Falls Invitational and the Highlands Invitational. In the second semester, the team won multiple medals at the MIT Invitational and performed incredibly well at the BirdSO Invitational. For the first time in the team’s history, Jordan ran an online tournament with over 60 teams attending. However, the team failed to qualify for nationals yet again due to an unconventional tiebreaker leaving them in 3rd rather than 2nd place.
