Middletown Area High School is a Division C team that competes in the Central region of Pennsylvania. They have placed in the top 10 at regionals several times in their history, but they have not yet participated in the state tournament. They are fed by Middletown Area Middle School.
To date, Middletown has not attended any invitational tournaments.
History
Middletown first competed in 2012. They had a strong first-year performance at regionals, placing 8th overall, and only missing states qualification by 24 points. However, they would struggle to match this performance over the next several years, only placing as high as 11th between 2013 and 2020.
Middletown Area High School qualified for the state tournament for the first time in 2021, after placing 12th at an expanded Central regional that included some teams from the Central East regional. However, they were a No Show at the virtual 2021 Pennsylvania State Tournament.
Since 2022, Middletown has had strong results at the regional tournament, placing in the top 10 each year. In 2025, they set a new all-time best performance at regionals, placing 7th overall with 213 points, only 4 points behind the final states qualification spot, occupied by Warwick High School.
