Chicago Public Schools Regional is a Division B and Division C regional in the state of Illinois. The regional only consists of schools within the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) District, the fourth largest school district in the nation. Over the years, the regional has been hosted at several locations including Wright College, Malcolm X College, Lane Tech High School, and Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).

CPS Regionals for the 2026 Season is currently scheduled for March 14, 2026 (Pi Day!) at Whitney Young Magnet High School.
History
In 2006, Science Olympiad's Urban Schools Initiative (USI) was founded to serve Chicago Public Schools. The program had a 3 season long initiative from 2007 to 2010 to support the start of Science Olympiad in CPS. For the 2007-2008 Season, USI funded 6 CPS schools to start teams and there was a small, 12-event CPS-only regional competition for both divisions. The goal of this unique regional was to have a protected environment for CPS schools to try out Science Olympiad. In the 2008-2009 season, USI and their partners funded 17 CPS schools to have Science Olympiad teams and the CPS Regional was hosted at Wright College with 8 middle schools and 9 high schools. In the 2009-2010 season, 22 CPS schools participated in Science Olympiad and the Wright College/CPS Regional ran the full 23 events for Division C and 18 events for Division B.
