Abington Heights Middle School is a Division B team that competes in the Northeast region of Pennsylvania. They are a consistently strong team in the Northeast region, qualifying for states at every regional since 2011.
History
Abington Heights Middle School's team was founded in 2008. After a few years of improvement, they qualified for states for the first time in 2011 after placing 5th at regionals. They have qualified for every state tournament since then, and have won two regional championships (2013 and 2017). They are only one of 5 middle schools to have multiple regional championships since the Northeast regional began in 1991. Their 6 top-3 finishes at regionals are also tied for the most of any active team, as both Stroudsburg Junior High School and Wyoming Area Middle School are defunct.
Abington Heights has placed in the top 10 of three state tournaments: 2012, 2013, and 2019. They achieved their best placement of 8th in both 2013 and 2019, although their score of 299 in 2019 surpassed their score in 2013 by just one point.
