person-v132 was a student at Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, California. I was one of the student co-officers for our Science Olympiad program.
In Division C, I competed in Codebusters, Experimental Design, Fermi Questions, It's About Time, WiFi Lab, Detector Building, Environmental Chemistry, Science Quiz Bowl, Run It Code It, Machine Learning, Circuit Lab, Cybersecurity, and Protein Modeling. In Division B, I competed in Battery Buggy, Circuit Lab, Experimental Design, Game On, Potions and Poisons, and Ping Pong Parachute for Creekside Middle School.
In the 2024 season, I competed in Codebusters, Detector Building, Experimental Design, and Fermi Questions.
I'm also the lead maintainer of SciOlyID, a group of tools used by students to practice ID events, such as Ornithology, Forestry, Rocks and Minerals, and others. In addition, I'm one of the team members for Duosmium, a tournament results archive and scoring system.
Volunteering
During the 2024 season, I volunteered with GullSO, an invitational hosted by Castro Valley High. I also helped run the 2023 and 2024 Bay Area Regional Elementary Science Olympiad Tournaments. During the 2021/2022 seasons, I ran/co-ran Game On for the Sierra Vista Invitational (2021), the New Mexico State Tournament (2021), and the BirdSO Mini/Satellite (2022). I also spend a significant amount of time developing SciOlyID (a group of Discord bots/web apps that help students practice ID events) and helping with Duosmium (a tournament results archive).
