Central York High School is a Division C team that competes in the Central region of Pennsylvania. They have a long history of competing in Science Olympiad, and have been a consistent contender in the region through the 2010s and 2020s.
History
Central York has participated in Science Olympiad since 1987 at the earliest, when they competed at the first Eastern Regional and qualified for the state tournament. In 1989, they participated in the first-ever Central Regional, and in 1991, they earned their best-ever finish at regionals by placing second.
Though Central York had less success in the 2000s, spending over a decade without qualifying for states, they returned to the state tournament in 2012 by placing 5th at the regional tournament. Since then, they have qualified for states nine times. They have also placed in the top 10 at every Central regional tournament since 2011.
Central York has regularly attended the Battle at Valley Forge Invitational since its inception. They have also attended the Tiger Invitational, MC Barons Invitational, and Dick Smith Memorial Invitational in their history.
