2017-2018 Season (6th grade)
Saw a pamphlet about Science Olympiad, thought it was interesting, parents said let's wait until 2nd term because you're just figuring out how 6th grade works.....
You can't just join the team mid-season...
So yeah that went well

National Cathedral School: Haha funny story no one in our group for Battery Buggy was allowed to use any of the equipment, so we had to wait for the build coach to cut everything.....
Two days before competition me and my dad frantically put together some semblance of a Battery Buggy
Day before I "calibrated" the buggy with my mom on a rocky slanted parking lot in the cold
At competition first run ran into the wall and second run stopped short because I forgot to wind it all the way
.....how did we get 9th??
(Also I had no prep for any of my events but we somehow got 4th in Mystery Architecture because origami)
Oakdale High: Turns out I suck at Mystery Architecture and National Cathedral was just a fluke... got taken off that very quickly
Got 1st in Game On (!) and 3rd in Battery Buggy because even though we accidentally got tiered because I forgot to take the batteries out >:( apparently everyone sucked at Battery Buggy worse than we did (only 5 teams participated in the event and only 1 team escaped being tiered)
Regionals: Got our act together, made it to States, somehow got 2nd in Aerial Scrambler
States: epic gamer moment beat the pants off everyone in Mario Kart 8 between events

National Cathedral: Oh hey look I managed to be competent this early in the season! Still salty about not getting anything back for Mission Possible and WIDI
Oakdale High: Competition got snow dated so we got one more week to prepare ^-^ and I somehow still managed to need to last minute fix the Mopple
BUT IT DID THINGS
AND WE GOT THE BONUS
AND WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN FIRST IN GAME ON IF THE SCORERS HADN'T MADE A SCORING ERROR HGVFBGUFTYUTIBAHHHHHHHH
Regionals:
- Ran down and up two flights of stairs to get my googles, which I had conveniently left in another bag... arrived at Mopple completely winded
- Coded a Kamigami cricket at the CodeNinjas stand to dance to a dubstep version of [forgot song name] because apparently color changes include pauses
- I DIDN'T MEDAL! OR RIBBON! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVEN'T MEDALED OR RIBBONED IN ANYTHING AT ALL! I'M ACTUALLY DISAPPOINTED! granted we were in a different league than last year but still
- AND WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN 3RD IN MOPPLE!!
