I'm pretty sure A/B/C grain types have little to do with quality. If I remember correctly, they're the orientation at which the stick or sheet is cut and influence tensile vs. compressive strength somewhat. --Unome (talk) 16:38, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Whoops completely forgot about this... On the contrary Unome, I would say grain types are crucial to getting a top-tier balsa build as they help reinforce its strength naturally. Yet you are correct about the orientation at which the stick or sheet is cut and how the influence of tensile vs. compressive strength helps in a build.TheChiScientist (talk) 13:08, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

I agree that they're crucial, just not in the way your page describes. There are plenty of uses for C grain that depend on the orientation of its grain. --Unome (talk) 17:49, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

You make a valid point yet in a bridge I see no beneficial uses for C grain as by my own experience C grain can be detrimental to a build under intense stress. The main point I am getting at is to have a quality bridge you must focus on the wood you are using as it does impact performance. I learned that the hard way.TheChiScientist (talk) 21:24, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Would these pages be held to the same "no 1st or 2nd person voice" as the rest of the Wiki? I think so, but I figured since it's a guide instead of a normal page, it would be a good thong to ask. 00:32Things2do (talk) 00:34, 27 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Much of this is a mix of both facts and then my personal recommendations so tbh I am not sure.(Also check ur grammer in ur last comment ;))TheChiScientist (talk) 02:12, 5 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Per the Wiki Guidelines, the rule against first and second person voice applies primarily to event and informational pages. User pages and talk pages can contain first or second person language. EastStroudsburg13 (talk) 15:09, 5 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
