Competition Results
2018
2019
Gliders became Godspeed's favorite event right when he came in. Though there was much frustration from the gliders breaking all of the time, he pursued the event. Roller Coaster was very rage-inducing since he got tiered at 2/3 competitions he went to. We happened to get tiered at Ladera Vista and at Regionals, though the device was pretty good and managed to get 4th place at Kraemer invitational, the only time it ever worked. Got 2nd in gliders at regionals by 0.05 seconds which was pretty crazy but unfortunate.
2020
Best year so far. Ping Pong Parachute was easily the event he despised the most to start, but eventually grew to be one of his most fun events. Oak Valley PPP sweeps were pretty cool this year. It'll always be a season of what could've been at State :'(.
2021
COVID year rip.
2022
This year had a lot of highs and lows but overall was great, placement wise! IAT was the most scuffed event ever, and he ruined his carpet because of how much water he spilled because of the event.
2023
Not the year Godspeed wanted to have. So much just went wrong in his builds at competitions and there was nothing he could do about it. Chem Lab and Fermi were incredibly mid the entire year. As a team though, such a fun year. We went to our first ever in person invitational and first ever satellite invitational! At state, we got 7th (later demoted to 8th) and severely outperformed how we thought we did after only placing 4 times during awards. While I'm not happy with my own placements, it was a great season overall.
2024
Godspeed had so much fun this year doing as many events (10 of the 23) as he could whenever he got the opportunity to just to have some fun and learn some events that he never got to try in his time competing. The success from this year made up for his poor performance last year. He led his team to their best ever regional performance, with a score of 112, as well as their first ever trophies at invitational tournaments. Very satisfying end to his 9 year Science Olympiad journey.
