Oak Valley Middle School is a public middle school in San Diego, California. It is in the Poway Unified School District. They placed second at the Kraemer Invitational in 2017, and won first place at the state tournament, qualifying for the 2017 National Tournament. They have won San Diego regionals ever since 2018, and have managed to place their 2nd team at 2nd place many times. From 2017 to 2019, the San Diego regional was the largest regional competition in the country.
Oak Valley remained undefeated in the 2020 season, winning 1st place in all of the tournaments they went to that season. They remain a strong contender at most satellite invitationals, and consistently place in the top 3 at the SoCal state competition every year.
The science Olympiad teams are named after Falcon Species, such as Saker, Peregrine, and Merlin, being the mascot of the school.
Oak Valley Invitational
Oak Valley hosts their own invitational, drawing many of the best schools from the state! Notably, the entire top 5 at the state tournament were present at the inaugural tournament in 2025. As Oak Valley Invitational grows, we gladly welcome new teams to come join in on the fun! :)
