Troy Athens High School of Troy, Michigan, has competed in Science Olympiad since its first national tournament in 1985, where they finished 2nd. While they have not returned since then, the team has improved significantly in recent years, beating their rival Troy High School (Michigan) and placing 1st in their region in the 2019-2020, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 seasons.
Troy Athens frequently competes at the UMSO and Eastside Invitational. In the 2020-2021 season, they hosted the Troy Athens Invitational, later co-hosting the Hawk & Hornet Invitational with Saline High School.
