Chiropterology is a trial event on the study of bats (chiroptera) first run in the 2021 season. Bearing many similarities to Ornithology, Chiropterology tests competitors over their knowledge of bats, their characteristics, and identification based on a bat list (found alongside the event rules).
The event was run multiple times throughout the 2021 season, most notably at the 2021 National Tournament, but also at the 2021 Southern California Joint Regional and State Tournament as well as the 2021 Arizona State Tournament for both Division B and Division C.
