There is nothing on the NCSO website that explicitly mentions it, but in recent seasons I have observed teams who normally compete in specific regions registering to compete in other regions (although some of them ended up being no-shows, but maybe it was due to distance). It could have also been an error on the part of a tournament director, but there was definitely at least one instance where a team was listed on the roster for a regional tournament nearly 3 hours away. -- Venules (talk) 03:15, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

^ The above situation was eventually clarified by NCSO; teams can register at any regional tournament, but it must be approved. However, another question arises with the tournament pages; should the history of the National Ready tournament be posted on the main North Carolina page (as it is right now), this page (Regions of NC), on the Raleigh regional page (since they are hosted in the same location), or should it get its own page? Based on what I know of it, I would say the National Ready Regional should have it's own page. Being relatively unique, there's probably more to be said about it than many regional tournaments. --Unome (talk) 04:11, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Recent updates on the NCSO website would indicate that the Buies Creek tournament is being decommissioned; it is currently listed as Southern Wake Tournament with an undetermined location. Once more information becomes available, would new information continue to be added to the old page or would a new page be necessary? Venules (talk) 00:04, 31 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I believe that if it is being held at the same location and only the name changes, then just change the name of the wiki page and use the old page. If the old regional location is not used anymore, and an entirely new regional is made with a different location, then start a brand new wiki page. Examples of both:

Same location, name change (Boca Raton Regional → Southeast Florida Regional): Boca Raton Regional now just redirects to Southeast Florida Regional
Entirely new regional was made with different name and location: Georgia Tech Regional
