Re: Stock picks
That doesn't necessarily determine what the stock will do, though. It certainly has some impact, but isn't everything.
Stocks like Walmart are generally stable. You'll see a slow and steady increase or decrease on them - no major gains or drops. Which I guess is good...if you can get a 10% return on a stable stock, that's what you really want to do. You're not going to hit it rich, but you'll make what you should.

Re: Stock picks
Well my opinion is that stable stocks are the things to be investing in. Financial and electronics stocks aren't doing too hot. Its really hard to find good stocks.

Re: Stock picks
oooh, sweet, a stock market thread!
i recently began reading a book on investment in the stockmarket, and yeah i know about the NASDAQ and DOW and SP500 and all that yada yada, but what else do you need to know? like, in a list, what do you need to know to understand the stock market? (if thats possible)

Re: Stock picks
in this crappy economy, i would invest in McDonalds without a doubt...i would be richer than rich in a matter of seconds...
(just to say though, i hate fast food...it makes me either- A.throw up or- B. become sick. i'm not exaggerating) wal-mart is a good investment right now (and generally always) too.
The Glass is neither half full nor half empty-it is simply twice as large as it needs to be.
