On the contrary, I'd buy a lot of stock right now if I had the money. Now is the time to buy. The market is fairly low, and it's going to go up (there's indications it's already started - it's been a good week).

Now is the time you want to invest, when the market is at a low. But I suppose you'd rather buy stock when the market is at a high, only to lose money on it (unless you're bear trading...)?

There's a lot of stocks that are safe and a good idea to buy. Or are you specifically asking about stocks from banks? Those are a bit riskier - Wells Fargo is one of the only ones I'd even look at.

I would hope everyone has heard of the Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500, and know what they are. But people never cease to amaze me.
