Basically, plant taxonomy is weird. You should put down whatever is on wikipedia (clades, informal classes); it should be enough.CTMSRoadScholarKING wrote:Ok so I am writing the taxonomy for everything on the list and when I search the plants' taxonomy, there are no phyla or classes. So do these have phyla and classes? Thanks

Yes (though not significantly, it could be score-affecting). To what extent? Your guess is as good as mine. Event supervisors will ask what they feel is important.windu34 wrote:Do you think taxonomy will go beyond the binomial nomenclature?Magikarpmaster629 wrote:Basically, plant taxonomy is weird. Apart from making the binder and memorizing names and pictures, how do you prepare for thie event? Watch youtube videos? Read articles?

Isn't that basically it? Make a binder, learn to ID, and be fast?windu34 wrote:Apart from making the binder and memorizing names and pictures, how do you prepare for thie event? Watch youtube videos? Read articles?

Re: Invasive Species B/C
Memorizing specific things besides the name is also very useful. For example knowing where the invasive came from originally off the top of your head would be helpful so that you don't have to waste time looking for the answer in your binder. Little things like that make a big difference.windu34 wrote:Apart from making the binder and memorizing names and pictures, how do you prepare for thie event? Watch youtube videos? Read articles?
