What kind of launcher are you using cryjea? Different launchers have different speeds.

i'm having a HUGE problem making the car go straight, it ends up about half a meter to the left . i'm using a pulley launcher. anyone have any ideas? i think it might be because my wheels are differnt heights but they're not(as far as i can tell) maybe using three wheels would be better?

Are you using ball bearings? If not, try them. You could also increase the size of your falling mass to increase your acceleration. Like croman said, different launchers also have different acceleration speeds. On the other thread you mentioned you were using 2X4s. Is this for the launcher or for the car? If it's for the car then you want to replace those with something lighter. It will be easier to accelerate a car that is lighter.

If the material you make your scrambler out of is too light, though, it may buckle and break in half, depending on the launcher you're using.

I know that for my hammer launcher the car has to be incredibly sturdy or else the car breaks. That's why most of my parts on the scrambler are metal.

It doesn't have to be incredibly sturdy for a pulley launcher. For a pulley launcher you want the scrambler to be more light weight than it is sturdy, that way you can get faster speeds.

What are you using for wheels and how are they attached to the scrambler? I have bolts holding my wheels in place and in between the wheel and bolt is a washer. The washer has to be in the center of the wheel or the scrambler goes off track. I don't know if this is the same design you are using, but it's one example of why a car might not go straight.

yes that's what i'm using except a washer inbetween. i figured out the problem. i need to find a bearing but i couldn't find any that fit my axle. roller blade ones are too big.

The front and rear axels might not be perfectly parallel. If the car seems to turn in a circle, it's your car's problem. If it goes in a straight line off to the side, your launcher needs to be fixed. :D
