I saw one where there was a plexiglass wheel with a kind of paint around the edges. For friction.

Thanks guys

Right now speed and accuracy is probably a problem for me.

My coach said something about having a tv antenna to guide your scrambler or something, I didn't really ask, so can anyone tell me what that's about?

TV antenna...
Only thing I could think to do with an antenna is use a telescoping antenna to connect and "guide" it for a short distance.
But those telescoping antenna have a lot of friction, so I don't think that would work too well...

Maybe I'm completely off the mark or maybe that was what your coach was thinking :?:

What kind of launcher are you using?

The answer to your literal question is: "Anything safe"
The answer to the question what should you use...

Defintely take a look at the Scrambler Wiki as Pleiades said.
If you are short on time, money, or both...also look at the Zero Cost Scrambler Wiki
Check out the Scrambler Gallery to see what other teams have used.

It depends on how much stress you plan to put on the scrambler. 5-ply is pretty strong as well as cheap.

I used some type of 2 by 4 wood and cds for wheels and threaded axle.

Speed is definitely something i need. my team's scrambler car goes far but very slow. we don't see any noticeable problems. any guesses what is wrong?
