Tampa Preparatory School qualified for the 2013 National Tournament by finishing in 2nd place at the 2013 Florida State Tournament. It was the team's second year competing in Science Olympiad - they had finished 4th at State in their inaugural year, 2012.
At the 2013 National Tournament, Tampa Prep finished in 56th place and won the Spirit Award.
