Talk:Scrambler
Page Structure
Most of this page is written well; however, some of the extensive physics analysis of the event obscures the information about the event itself in some cases (especially since Scrambler is both a B and C event). Also, some sections have very large blocks of text without much in terms of headers to aid in navigating the page. If there is a way to bring the information about the event itself and constructing the device out to a more prominent location, and/or organize the page so the physics applications and/or information from past years are in their own sections, that would be ideal. Cleaned up the page. Most of the reduction are from very wordy sentences - in particular, the physics sections are much shorter, but no content is lost. I strongly suspect that there are still many typos and name mismatch - it's very, very easy to make mistake on such a large page :) I also did not pay as much attention to hidden sections.
The wheel section had some physics that are actually inaccurate, which I modified. However, I am not an expert on the field. Three users peer-reviewed it so far, with one I know from USAPhO camp. Still, please check the physics if you are comfortable with it. The math type does not load as well in spoiler boxes, so I removed the boxes. Hopefully it is cleaned up well enough to not look scary.
This will probably be my last edit for the Wiki drive - spending 5 hours on a project is tiring :D Proud of it though - the page will definitely get better! --Raxu (talk) 16:55, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
Common Components
EastStroudsburg13: I've noticed that the "common components" section is somewhat present, and very useful for almost all vehicle events: almost all vehicle events require as quickly and accurately as possible, so the design tips about ETV applies to almost all systems. The Energy Propulsion System is different for each though.
I'm thinking of something like a Vehicle Building page for the tips, and then each page will have event-specific information about the Propulsion system. This is low-urgency compared to the rush of new rules in 5 days though :) --Raxu (talk) 21:27, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
I think this is an interesting idea; having a central page for Vehicle Building could be helpful for other pages. What could also be done in the meantime is link to this section from other pages, saying something like "for additional background about the construction of vehicles, please see Scrambler#Common Components".
