Background
Homeschool Science Colorado was founded in Fall 2008 and entered its first competition Spring 2009 with a small and young Division B team that placed third in both the Southern Regional and Colorado State Competitions. In Fall 2009, when four of its students were too old for B, a Division C team was added to the club. HSC is based in the Colorado Springs area. HSC's students work hard and have learned to be resourceful and dedicated learners. The parents are its coaches, kitchen tables are its labs, a fleet of minivans gets the members from here to there, and a good search engine is HCS's favorite resource.
HSC's mission is to provide participants, parents, coaches and all involved with the team a positive learning experience in the fields of Science, to compete as a team in Science Olympiad with character described in the Rule Handbook, and to instill not only in themselves but in the team a sense of pride and integrity that may be passed on for years to come.
