2020 - 2021 season: 7th grade

I don't remember a lot of 7th grade it was all a fever dream

I do remember I completely bombed tryouts

Silly me not studying a single bit

oh yeah the crime busters test was among us

Disclaimer: I was so horrendous that the February Eagle Invy was my first ever competition

EVENTS: Fossils

Eagle Invitational A-team


I got put onto Fossils A-team for no apparent reason and my partner immediately made me do actual work (shocker)

Turns out only doing 1 event is really good sometimes because we actually placed decently

Don't try this at home

Silver tedtheli has received a Silver medal in Fossils at Eagle Invitational in 2020.

seriously she was the only reason I did anything at all


Regionals C-team

Bumped down from A team as expected

The only reason I was ever on A-team was that they were missing someone

So I soloed fossils this time and completely carried B)

2021-2022 season: 8th grade

EVENTS: Crave The Wave, Codebusters, and Road Scholar


I thought Crave the Wave was about ocean stuff but it was physics (womp womp).

The advisor comes up to me and asks "Hey we have an opening for Codebusters dyou wanna join?"

I get catfished into thinking it's computer science and say yes

After studying a bit for Code I conclude that Cryptology >>>>>>> Comp Sci

Rickards Invitational C-team

Sierra Vista are such sweats tbh


50th Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School came in 50th place at the [[Rickards Invitational]] in 2020.

48th tedtheli has received a 48th place medal in Codebusters at Rickards Invitational in 2020.

My partner Jason and I actually slayed Crave

UCO Invitational C-team


17th Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School came in 17th place at the [[UCO Invitational]] in 2020.

not bad for a C team if I do say so myself

17th tedtheli has received a 17th place medal in Codebusters at Rickards Invitational in 2020.

UCO was much better than Rickards

We even improved on Codebusters

Shout out to my Crave partner Jason again for being an absolute beast

26th Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School came in 26th place at the [[High Desert Invitational]] in 2021.

Everything was normal nothing eventful happened. moving onto regionals

Regionals C-team

So I WAS put onto B team for Regionals but my parents convinced me that doing Crave with Jason was a lot better than being on B team and I agreed

I was sad that Fossils was out of rotation so I went for Rocks instead.

Ended up doing not a lot and relied on 3 things throughout the competitions: my partner Jane, my ESRT, and Minerobo the Rocks & Minerals Discord Bot.

Dick Smith Invitational B-team

NOT C TEAM!!!! RAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

18th Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School came in 18th place at the [[Dick Smith Invitational]] in 2021.
11th tedtheli has received a 11th place medal in Crave the Wave at Dick Smith Invitational in 2021.
7th tedtheli has received a 7th place medal in Codebusters at Dick Smith Invitational in 2021.

R.I.P. my previous Crave partner Jason, who went onto a better place (A team)

On a happier note, I grinded Codebusters all summer and it actually worked.

Finally, screw those sweaty Sierra Vista kids. Nobody on the team was salty. Nobody at all.

LISO A-team

For some reason scio competitions and music festivals always conflict. In fact, if I had a nickel for every time a music festival conflicted with a scio competition, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

A TEAM!!!!! RAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Yeah this was just because another kid had to go to the music thing.

Gold tedtheli has received a Gold medal in Codebusters at LISO in 2022.
Gold tedtheli has received a Gold medal in Disease Detectives at LISO in 2022.

Huge props to my partners: Ryu for Disease Detectives and Eric and Joon for Codebusters.

Ryu gave me her notes and made me study a lot

I swear I obtained eye and neck problems trying to read the font size 3 notes she had.

Eric and Joon were actually good at Codebusters; no hate for the B team kids though.

Cornell Invitational B-team

Back to B but I don't really mind.


5th Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School came in 5th place at the [[Cornell Invitational]] in 2022.

There were only 16 teams holy shiitake mushrooms

Gold tedtheli has received a Gold medal in Rocks and Minerals at Cornell Invitational in 2022.

I think my heart rate reached an all-time high during the Codebusters test.

Shout out to my Crave partner Kevin who knew some obscure knowledge but it helped a lot for some reason.

Shout out to my Rocks partner Jane who carried.

We got spirited on by Hola and never recovered from that blow. I'm pretty sure the entire Gelinas scio team is still scarred.

Regionals B-team


2nd Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School came in 2nd place at the [[Eastern Long Island Regional]] in 2022.

We got so scared when Gelinas B wasn't on the leaderboard. Turns out they didn't put any duplicate schools up there.

Gold tedtheli has received a Gold medal in Rocks and Minerals at Eastern Long Island Regional in 2022.
Bronze tedtheli has received a Bronze medal in Bridge at Eastern Long Island Regional in 2022.

Gelinas Codebusters popped off that day. A, B, and C got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively. Massive W.

Another surprising 1st at Rocks because as usual, it was mostly my partner Jane's work.

Bridge lol. I got assigned assistant randomly and just stood there. Later at the awards ceremony I walked up to the podium knowing full well I didn't do shiitake mushrooms. I will take the 3rd place though.


2023-2024: 10th grade
