General Information

Hello! I'm a 9th grader on the SciOly Division B team at OCSA, which is also the school that I go to. My nickname is 'Dictator' for some reason, definitely not sure why.

Events

I currently compete in Road Scholar (which is the best event), Forestry, Dynamic Planet, and occasionally CSI trial events (Run it Code it, Write it CAD it, Spreadsheet Scripting). I'm the captain of the Environmental Strand, which is comprised of Forestry, Dynamic Planet, and Ecology.

Reasoning

Dynamic Planet

Earth's Fresh Waters can be a very fun topic, but it can also be a vague one. Test questions can go off the rules, but when it's a good test, it's really fun, like States.

Food Science

It's a fun event, but the questions can be all over the place. However, HYDROMETERS SUCK!!! How do you build one with such precision????

Forestry

Forestry is a good event, but if it's a bad test, like Kennedy Virtual, in which half of the trees weren't on the tree list! Usually the event is stations-based, but that's fine, as sitting down actually is kind of inefficient (like at State). If there isn't a big table to work on, it's very difficult to handle a binder, a field guide, a test booklet, and an answer sheet at the same time (like at State). It's also important to put your answers in the correct format, and family names in the Scientific format - at Mira Loma, I asked if I could put Gingko Family instead of Ginkgoaceae, and the proctor said yes, and proceeded to mark that question wrong, and the following questions like that wrong because I put all the family names like that! >:(
