2024-2025 Season
My mom kinda told me to go do SciOly this year, so I basically had no choice. I was locked in the year before with Swimming and Piano so didn't do much else. After getting First at state for MMTA in 6th grade, I gotta find something else to do. (HomogenousMix, u suck. HM was only 2024 >:0)

I did pretty well on the first few tests for my 4 events, was probably top 5 for all of them except for Crime. I SOLD the 2nd test for crime and dropped from 3rd to 8th. I managed to get to 7th before WashU. IDK about Disease because our school doesn't post results, so I think I did fine. Microbe was alright except drop from 3rd to 4th on the last test. I didn't finish my Scrambler before WashU and I kept crashing my scrambler when I was running it at school.

I was pretty hyped for the Invitation. I only got 2 events but that was fine by me. Louis and I almost missed the out testing time because we got lost in the building. I almost screwed up the test for Crime but managed to change the fiber part in the last 5 minutes. Bryan hard carried me at microbe.
At awards, I was pretty confident about the test, it was pretty easy. We saw the White team do their test and were pretty sure our answers matched up. Bryan was sure of his answers and said that he was sure he got everything right. At awards, we managed to beat the other teams and get 1st at Crime and 2nd for Microbe. Pretty good first tournament.
Nope. About a week later, they found a scoring error and actually got tiered to 7th for who knows what reason. (They actually confused Ladue Blue with Ladue Rams, so Rams got 1st and Blue got 7th, and wasn't tiered.) I was sad about this news but it is what it is.

I was locked in for this tournament. I need that redemption arc for last tournament.
For Crime, Louis and I LOCKED in we did 4 practice tests before and beat the Competition team people 2 twice. The test for this tournament we actually really easy and had so much time we finished 10 mins before the next rotation.
I did Microbe with Arjun, who's 6th at this event at school. He didn't really study so I kinda figured that everything he did was incorrect...
The B team needed someone to run a scrambler and I had one. I got really lucky because on my first run, my egg hit the Terminal Barrier and didn't crack. I destroyed my egg on the second run thou. I also beat the Comp team again!
For Disease, the Comp team people didn't study and they got 4th, beating them again. The test was so cheese though, it was about suicide or something. Dunno how that has to deal with epidemiology.
I did not do P&P and my Crime partner needed someone. So, because I got some experience with chem events, he chose me. Managed to get 3rd. Hard carried me. Pretty happy with this tournament.

Out school decided this year that they would bring people along to do Trial Events. I got really lucky with this one and the coach selected me to go to nats with them. I was on a time crunch and only had like 5 weeks to prepare.
Hovercraft: This was a REAL interesting one. I worked at Arjun's house a lot and he 3d printed practically everything. We spent almost every night at his house 2 weeks before nats. We would brainstorm and figure out our hovercraft. He kept changing designs and I had to document every change. a week before leaving for nats, we would be testing into 11 and even 12. I spent the last 3 days, staying up until 3:30 or 4 AM making our design log cause he kept changing things. I got so sleep deprived I would be surviving on sugar so stay awake. We were still testing the night before we competed. Both of us were freaking out because we got absolutely ZERO testing for time over 10 seconds, and the parameters at nats are 10 to 20 seconds.
On the day of the competition, we got a 25 second first run, which was horrible, considering the target time was 12 seconds. I think the Event Supervisors kinda hated us because we asked too many questions. This old man told us to get out after we finished testing. The second run fared so much better, getting an 11.07.
Agsci: Pretty much any study event, kind of like Ex design but not really. My teammate ran the experiment while I create a ref sheet. I would go over to her house once a week to follow up on the plants. The notebook was pretty nice too. Didn't get it back tho. Went pretty smoothly. Idk if she used the plants after the experiment was over. Selena locked in on the last half of the test cuz I forgot everything.
I was dumb and forgot to put our names and team number on the day of the competition, idk if they removed points for that. The test wasn't that bad but I forgot stuff about the nitrogen cycle.
Awards: First trial event was Agsci. I thought we would place around 5th or 4th, so did pretty well. One of the first events called to receive medals so that was exciting.
Hovercraft: We heard that Kennedy and Solon got 11.7-11.8, so I thought we would be good to place 5th or 6th. After the first 3 events, we gave up hope. Somehow got 1st tho. Got really excited when we got called up.
