Turtle Rock Elementary School is a public elementary school serving kindergarten through sixth grade in the Turtle Rock neighborhood of Irvine, Orange County, California. The team currently participates in Division A and B events.
Team History
Turtle Rock Elementary School first competed in Science Olympiad in the 2023-2024 season in Division A. The following year, it entered Division B events, participating in the Sierra Vista Invitational, Troy Invitational, and the Orange County Regionals.
Team Structure
The team composes 5th and 6th graders from Turtle Rock Elementary, which are chosen via tryout tests in late fall on the different Science Olympiad events. Further placement into A and B teams is decided by grade level and tryout test scores. Meetings happen after school or on weekends, and students are encouraged to practice on their own time.
Currently, the team is coached by former team members, most of which attend Rancho San Joaquin Middle School.
