Despite being relatively new to Science Olympiad, Tesla STEM has dominated, performing well at invitationals, regionals, states, and nationals for the past few years. Most notably, they won the Washington State competition for 2 years, making it to nationals.

In the 2022-23 season, they placed 27th at the National Tournament after placing 1st at States.

School Background

Tesla STEM High School is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics high school founded in 2012. As a public choice school, a lottery-style system for enrollment is used. In class, students conduct research in STEM Lab Concentrations, investigate real world problems, and bring research and debate into the equation while working towards viable solutions.

Tesla STEM High School was founded in 2012, and has only around 600 students. Tesla STEM Science Olympiad was started in the 2020 season. At its peak, TSSO had 90 members - around 15% of the school! (and also the max number of competitors...)

Invitational

TSSO has hosted 2 invitationals in the past. They hosted a Satellite Division B invitational in the 2022 season. They also hosted an in-person Division C invitational in the 2024 season, with over 250 students from 18 teams! TSSO also hopes to run another invitational next year and have a similarly tremendous amount of fun.
