Stoller Middle School is a Division B school in Oregon that has qualified for the last eight National tournaments, including the 2019 National Tournament. Their regular participation over the past few years has made them a formidable Division B school in Oregon. Stoller feeds into Westview High School and Sunset High School, although some apply for Jesuit High School.
In 2022, Stoller Middle School placed 16th at the National Science Olympiad tournament, their best finish in history. The team ranked 1st at Nationals in two events, Solar System and Experimental Design, a strong challenge to other top teams. They also had a 2nd place finish in Crime Busters, a 4th place finish in Crave the Wave and a 9th place finish in Road Scholar, all outstanding placements.
In the 2023 Oregon State Science Olympiad competitions, all three Stoller teams (Stoller Legends, Stoller Young Einsteins and Stoller Megamind) achieved a successful standing with Stoller Legends finishing first, Stoller Young Einsteins receiving the third ranking and Stoller Megamind taking 5th place (with equal points as the 4th team). Stoller Legends will get the opportunity to represent the State of Oregon at 2023 National Science Olympiad.
In the 2023 National Science Olympiad competition, Stoller Legends obtained 25th place, with a bronze in Solar Power (a trial event) and 4th in Wheeled Vehicle. They had two events in which they were very close for medals (8th in Bio Process Lab and 10th in Rocks & Minerals).
In 2024 Nationals in Michigan State University, Stoller Dark Matter had a 2nd place finish in Fast Facts despite the extremely late start for the participants; 6th in the trial event Solar Power; and 3rd in Optics. They also placed 7th in Can't Judge A Powder and 8th in Agricultural Science, both close medals.
