Ozark Middle School is a Division B team in the state of Missouri that competes in Region VII. Neither team has competed since the 2022 season.
Ozark Middle School vs Ozark Junior High Confusion
The Ozark School district has two schools that have Division B grade students, and they are two completely separate schools but they both seem to have had Science Olympiad teams on and off over time. Prior to 2023, the Middle School housed the 6th and 7th graders while the Junior High housed the 8th and 9th graders. In 2023, the district rearranged the grade levels, with the Middle School now housing 5th and 6th grade, and the Junior High housing 7th and 8th grade, with the 9th graders going to Ozark High School. Note that neither school has competed since the 2023 grade level shift.
Given that many of the scoresheets simply say "Ozark" and then a team name and does not specify whether they are from the Junior High or Middle School makes it difficult to track these scores as separate schools. There are times where it does clearly specify though, like the 2019 Missouri State Tournament clearly listing the team as Ozark Junior High School. Given the fact that it is difficult to differentiate the two teams at many times, this page will represent both teams for the time being.
