Julia R. Masterman School, commonly referred to as simply Masterman, is a public magnet school serving grades 5-12 located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They field both a Division B and a Division C team who compete in the Southeast Pennsylvania Regional.
School Info
Masterman is a magnet school that pulls from the city of Philadelphia. They are consistently one of the top-ranked schools in the state, and have one of the lowest acceptance rates of any grade school in the country.
Team History
In 2016, Masterman's first year, they competed at the Urban Regional, placing second, and subsequently began competing in the very difficult Southeast region. In 2018, they placed 15th, marking the highest any team from within the city limits of Philadelphia placed at the Southeast regional. They qualified for the state tournament for the first time in 2023, and returned in 2024.
In 2024, Masterman began competing in Division B as well. In their B squad's first season, they placed 11th in the region.
