Amador Valley High School is a public high school located in Pleasanton, CA. About 2,500 students attend the school. It receives students from Pleasanton Middle School. Its current regional is Alameda Regional Science Olympiad (ARSO), but in past years, Amador attended Bay Area Regional Science Olympiad (BARSO).
Amador's first appearance at the States level, at Northern California State Tournament, was in 2014, when Amador made 4th place at Bay Area Regional. The team has since made it to the States level two more times, during the 2023 and 2025 seasons, placing 6th and 4th respectively. Amador's highest placement at the State level was 7th place in 2022.
Amador employs an internal voting system to determine its team names. The team names follow a central theme that varies by year, each one having something to do with an event. During the 2022-23 season, the team names were eμ (emu), πgeon (pigeon), and ρbin (robin), all following an Ornithology theme. Similarly, in the 2023-24 season, the team names were Wisteria, Magnolia, and Redwood, following a Forestry theme. In the 2024-25 season, the team names were Sirius, Polaris, Altair, and Rigel, following an Astronomy theme.
