Ringgold High School is a Division C team that competes in the Southwest region of Pennsylvania. Their Science Olympiad team consists of students grades 10 through 12, many of which have previous experience in Division B, competing on the Ringgold Middle School team (formerly known as Finley Middle School and Carroll Middle School).
History
Ringgold has one of the oldest teams in the state of Pennsylvania, having competed at the inaugural Western Regional in 1987. They have competed every year since then.
Ringgold's first appearance at the state tournament came in 1991, after placing eighth at the Western Regional. They were one of the top teams at the Southwestern Regional when it was first organized in 1995, even placing first in 1996, which remains their highest placement at any regional tournament.
In the 21st century, success at the regional tournament has been rarer for Ringgold, as they have not finished inside the top 10 of the region since the early 2000s.
