Participated in [[Meteorology]], [[Anatomy and Physiology|A&P]], and [[Forestry]]. Ended up slacking a little bit in Meteo, doing mediocre at best at A&P, and putting most effort into Forestry (cannot tell if it paid off). Our coach also put me as an assistant in [[Wheeled Vehicle]] and, at one point, [[Storm the Castle]], since for States and Nats I was only officially competing in Forestry.

I did mediocre at best with BullSO and Boyceville, probably because those were my first ever invitationals and I was relatively unprepared. TAMU Invitational was my first in-person competition and despite making my cheatsheet last-minute, I did well on the Anatomy test because it was mostly in the range of what I had studied and stuck pretty closely to the Rules Manual. After getting my medal at the awards ceremony I was informed by one of our coaches that I had actually gotten 1st place (the original 1st place team was [[Beckendorff Junior High School|Beckendorff]]), which was very cool until the next day when my 1st place was revoked and I was once again in 2nd place which was kind of disappointing. Louisiana State was easy. Interestingly enough, one of our coaches claimed it to be a difficult competition because of the sheer lack of teams and the point margins would be small. I never got to truly experience the difficulty of the tests since by that point I was in only one official event, but the forestry test was not difficult—each station had two questions, one of which being identification. This is in stark contrast to the Nationals forestry test, which gave us 2 minutes and 30 seconds to answer 10 questions. Very overwhelming. We did not end up placing and thus did not end up getting [[User:Treesdea|dea]]'s face reveal.
I was mediocre in BullSO. Not surprising, seeing as that was my first ever invitational.

<nowiki>*</nowiki>Don't remember which team I was on :( The only document I could find with our teams was a draft in which my name was not present.
For Boyceville we got "1st place exhibition" in forestry, whatever that means. Wisconsin is weird

TAMU was eventful for me because I would have fully expected to place in forestry (my favorite event by that point), but I ended up doing so in A&P. This was surprising because my cheatsheet was completely last-minute and I was also competing solo. Interestingly, after the award ceremony, the coach told me that the test-graders had made a mistake and I had actually gotten first, only for them to tell me the next morning that I was still in 2nd place. First place winner was [[Beckendorff Junior High School|Beckendorff]].

We got a few points off of the BirdSO forestry test because of grading errors, but we ended up placing anyway. Watching the awards stream was very exciting :)

I found the state competition to be rather easy but this might have been due to the fact that I was only competing in forestry (though in addition, our coach had put me in Wheeled Vehicle and Storm the Castle as an assistant).

In contrast, I found the national competition quite overwhelming. This was kind of disappointing because [[User:Treesdea|Dea]] (forestry partner) had promised to face reveal if we placed, and we didn't. No face reveal this year :(

2022-2023 Season

My first year competing :) I participated in Meteorology, A&P, and Forestry. Ended up slacking a little bit in Meteo, doing mediocre at best at A&P, and putting most effort into Forestry. Our coach also put me as an assistant in Wheeled Vehicle and, at one point, Storm the Castle, since for States and Nats I was only really competing in Forestry.

Event BullSO Boyceville Texas A&M BirdSO Louisiana State Nationals

I was mediocre in BullSO. Not surprising, seeing as that was my first ever invitational.

First place winner was Beckendorff.

This was kind of disappointing because Dea (forestry partner) had promised to face reveal if we placed, and we didn't. No face reveal this year :(
