Question: In the rules, right before the a. bullet point, it mentions something about the 2017 List, I am confused on what this means. I do not know whether or not this is an appropriate question for this forum, but I am asking it just in case.

It's referring to the 2017 microbial disease list, posted on the microbe mission page on soinc: https://www.soinc.org/sites/default/fil ... ASES17.pdf
In other words, if I was writing a test, I couldn't ask questions about Zika because it is not on the list (but I bet there will still be someone out there who does end up putting a Zika question in a test because...Zika).

Sounds like standard BPL-type questions to me; just estimate with the scale provided. I'd estimate it to be ~0.11 mm

Would anyone happen to know what about the listed diseases are covered in the Microbe Mission event?
For example, the name of the organism causing the disease seems obviously applicable, but what about epidemeology and modes of transmission? These seem like Disease Detectives areas.
If anyone had participated in this event before, any input would be appreciated!

The rules say treatment and prevention of various diseases, but epidemiology and modes of transmission don't hurt

You don't have to put a ton of specific info for each disease on your notes, on the rules, it just says that you must know general information about each category of microbes.A bit of specifics would be helpful on your notes tho.
