Science/Stem Summer Camps

Post by Magikarpmaster629 »

I know many of us science nerds go to go to summer camps at universities that typically cover topics not covered in school. If any of you are going to one or more of them, post which ones here.

I am going to the University of Michigan Math and Science Scholars program for graph theory :ugeek: .

Yes history counts; history is almost as important as science!

Also, did you lose internet for a week or something?

HIDE YOURSELVES! THE APOCALYPSE IS COMING!

On a more serious matter: I was going to go to a STEM camp, but I was already going to HP camp during that time. Quidditch here I come!

If any of you are currently rising juniors and want to start getting your feet wet with research next summer, you may want to check out RSI, which includes all kinds of research-y stuff in a very wide variety of fields, or SSP, which is more focused on astro/physics and also more collaborative. (Full disclaimer: I attended SSP in 2013 and thought it was awesome :P)

Many universities have their own research/science camps for high schoolers -- these are just two of the most well-known (and most competitive!) -- so definitely take a look at what your nearby colleges are offering.

Anyone going to the NSA hacker camps https://www.nsa.gov/public_info/press_r ... amps.shtml

I think they're trying to build up some goodwill/propaganda after the Snowden devastation. Also, of course, trying to recruit some of the best minds.
