Transport
Hey,
Last year's nationals was in Florida and was (relatively) easier to travel to from NJ, but next year's WISCONSIN.
Now obviously some teams have to travel across coasts every year, so how do you guys manage it without making it astronomically expensive?

Re: Transport
How do you guys handle transportation of builds? E.g. do you all go in a bus, or do you ship your builds and fly to the competition?

Re: Transport
One of our team,s families drive cross country to Nebraska with the more fragile builds while our actual team chartered a bus. Bottle rockets and chem event supplies stayed in the bus.tanuagg13 wrote:How do you guys handle transportation of builds? Re: Transport
And on that note I would advise you to not fly with your builds. One of our state's C division teams brought their Scrambler car and their bridge on the plane... it was not pretty.Jaol wrote:One of our team,s families drive cross country to Nebraska with the more fragile builds while our actual team chartered a bus. Would you happen to know more about what happened? Was it handled roughly by the people working at the airport?samlan16 wrote:And on that note I would advise you to not fly with your builds. Re: Transport
They carried as many events as they could on thinking the plane would be a good old 737, but it was one of those tiny regional jets with one flight attendant. The aisles were extremely narrow; despite the fact that everything was well covered in bubble wrap, all the slamming into people may be attributed to their poor performance at nationals.bernard wrote:Would you happen to know more about what happened? Oh, and I should add to my previous post: bring extra super glue every time, or find a way to get some.
