What do your SciO clubs do after comp?

I founded a SciO team this year and we competed in our 1 st comp (regs, didn't make it to state b/c we didn't enter most the building). so I was wondering what y'alls do between the end of competition season and release of next year's official event parameters. I'm pretty much coaching my team (teacher coach is enthusiastic but involved) and any advice/team meeting structure is extremely helpful!

Get ready for the Energy Whiz Olympics, and after that, work on stuff for Scioly next year.

Many schools throw in the towel until the next set of rules manuals are printed after they don't advance. However, options exist.
1. fund-raise
2. prepare for next season *you don't need 2016 rules manuals to prepare for half of the events
3. summer school *I taught an SO summer school class last summer to a chunk of the team and some others, which was a cool experience
4. if your team only meets intermittently normally, the meetings could be maintained as more of a social than academic club for the remainder of the school year (think 'science blub')

My team normally doesn't make it to Nats, but State is so close to the end of the school year normally everyone is just too busy to keep meeting so we just stop then. My team also doesn't do summer studying because you never know what events you will have the next year, and the coaches won't let people choose events in advance.

We're two schools working together unless we're at a tournament. If one team makes it to states and the other doesn't, the team that made it continues studying this year's events for states. The other team gets an opportunity to change events in preparation for next year. After states ends, we throw a party and if you want to keep studying for next year, you can organize meeting spots.

We usually go out to dinner afterwards and play games like telephone or challenge each other on QuizUp while waiting to eat.
For competitions away from home, we all pile into someone's common hotel room and play Cards Against Humanity, Mafia, Harem, Paranoia, etc.

FYI: Harem and Paranoia are campfire games that we made up. It's sorta hard to explain.

We don't do much. We party and we occasionally study. Even then, we got third place in states last year.

Last year we went to Universal, then started studying for this year.
