So this would seem to be the "'Lab' lab" event I've been joking about this year. I just didn't think it would actually become an event. I must say, I'm a little distressed. Basically, they can give you any lab to do and come up with data about. Seems to me that there's an awful lot of overlap between this and Experimental Design. This, it would appear, is staying in the theme of 5star, where team placement in the tournament had little correlation with placement in the event. Hopefully the rules committee will write slightly more detailed rules for the manuals, rather than just: "Do some tests! Find out some stuff! Write some data! Have fun!"

It's been an event before; at least it looks basically the same as Practical Problem Solving from my freshman year with some minor differences. So yeah, it'll probably be an vague event where you'll just have to know how to use all the different measurement devices and have to smart people who know how to think on their feet. It's more likely the replacement for Fermi since it's an event where process skills and calculations are vital to success more than pure studying. Actually sounds like it could be fun to me.

And it's spelled 'vague'.
