Scioly Who Am I 3: The Rhyme Scheme

Post by Nobody_ »

A question burns in my mind. A question I have been asking for as long as I can remember: Who am I? In fact, we have all asked ourselves this question at one point or another in our lifetime. Even those who seem so confident on the outside have pondered this question at least once. So let us go on an adventure together to find our own answers to this omnipotent question. Are you ready?

Poetry is an amazing thing. Written by individuals who have faced death, adversity, or simply internal conflict, great poetry often deals with major life changing questions, such as the question we are choosing to ponder- the question of identity. As such, in this game we shall endeavor to express our identity through poetry, as so many great individuals have done before us.

Life, unfortunately, is not a free verse poem, and as such, it has rules and regulations. So, of course, there are some key rules for this game:
1. If you wish to partake in this little game of mine, your task is simple. All you need to do is write a clue that points to yourself. Once you write your clue, PM it to this account.
2. For this game, all clues must relate to poetry. Take this as you will, but this can mean anything from finding a poem, to writing a poem, to altering a poem. Your methodology does not matter as long as the clue points to you and relates to poetry.
3. The game will begin once I receive clues from 5 people. However, even once the game starts, you can still send in clues if you wish to play. To keep this game from stretching on indefinitely, I will accept up to 10 clues. If I get 10 clues, I will notify everyone of this so that people do not send in more.
4. Once a clue is posted, anyone who has sent in a clue is free to make an attempt at solving it. I will wait 48 hours before revealing the answer to a clue left unsolved by the players.
5. The person who solves the most clues during the game will have the honor of choosing the host for the next game. However, if more clues are left unsolved than solved, then I will choose the next host.
6. I will provide hints throughout the game pointing to my identity. Discovering my identity will be equivalent to solving two normal clues.
7. I reserve the right to alter or add to these rules at any point in time, with or without warning.

Well it seems we have 5 brave participants, so let us begin our adventure with our first clue!
Clue wrote:Oh wondrous star,
Will thou lend some light?
Come hither, angels,
And let us sing to our king.
What a sad, sad, song. I wonder who the singer could be?

I think it's been more than 48 hours.
Perfection. That’s what it’s about. It’s those moments. When you can feel the perfection of creation. The beauty of physics, you know, the wonder of mathematics. The elation of action and reaction, and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to.

Wonderful! EpicFailOlympian is correct. The clue does in fact point to SilverNight. Would you care to provide us with an explanation SilverNight?

As for the next clue, well, my impatience is getting the better of me, so while it has not been 48 hours yet, I shall post it now, as I fear my heart may burst should I make myself prolong the wait any longer. Oh look, another Emily Dickinson fan I see, I wonder who it could be?
Clue wrote: Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The Carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.

We slowly drove, he knew no haste
And I had pt away
My labor and my leisure too,
For his civility.

We Passed the school, where Children played
Their lessons scarcely done;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
We passed the setting sun.

Or rather, he passed us;
The dews drew quivering and chill,
For only gossmer, my gown,
My tippet only tulle.

We paused before a house that seemed
A swelling of the ground;
The roof was skarcely visible,
The cornice but a mound.

Since then 'tis centuries, and yet each
Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses' heads
Were toward Eternity.

Yea, it's "Because I could not stop for Death" by Emily Dickinson. I read that poem last year, it just personifying death as a gentleman guiding/driving Emily to her death in a carriage. Don't know what it points to though. (Other than Nobody_, which we don't know who she is) It is a lyric poem, a poem used to express feelings.

Wow, I do not know what to make of this clue. :? I really don't see how the poem could relate to anyone who might play this game....does anyone else have any ideas?

Well we can start by looking at what people have played the game before. ( we could take a look at our list of suspects.) I personally thinking that it might point to mortal_creator_13 but she doesn't come on here that often :?
