Can somebody give me an example of a problem that could be used on a test? Something from a past test would be fine, just so long as I have something to work with.

There are no past tests, this is a new event.

In other words, I'm just as confused as you. And is it just me, or is all the equipment for this event extremely expensive?

I'm confused too, but it's not a new event. And there also two other threads for this event, they are on the lab event section the bottom two, both labeled Tech Trek.

Personaly i had never heard it before, but my coach said that she used to run the event many many years back.

my coach said she saw a sample of it and its like the questions that are on the ACT or SAT where they give you information in a table or graph or something like that and they give you a question. you just use the information they give you and some prior knowledge to answer the questions, well that's what my coach said.

It's not even like we know exactly what devices to use... beyond math and practical lab skill, is it even possible to prepare for this event?

I would suggest just working on your lab skills like in school for science's. I also tried this
