I just rechecked the permissions and it isn't strictly that you can never delete your posts in Gen Chat, it just involves other variables (like being an admin...) Probably has something to do with the fact that Gen Chat has some resemblance of usefulness to it at times...

Permissions for registered users allow post deletion in Posting Games, but not in General Chat, correct.
That has not been changed, as far as I can tell.
