Track Width

Rule 7c(v): The Track Area will have a width of 2.0 m and extend at least 1.0 m behind the Start Point.

There do not appear to be any penalties for the Vehicle going wide of the 2.0 meter track width, other than if it went so wide, it could hit something.

Could an ES place a barrier on each side of the track to limit the Vehicle to only use the 2.0 m width?

As someone who has ran this event for years, I wouldn't. It will only negatively impact your entry level teams, and they are usually the ones that require the most encouragement. The good teams will not curve much to keep the times down. Plus you'll have coaches get mad if the kid breaks their device by hitting a wall that did not need to be there.
