Re: Boomilever B/C
Rule 3.g.ii.(3) lists that a boomilever designed for the bonus (touches the testing wall only above 15cm (B)/20 cm (C)) must hold 15 kg. Is it correct to interpret that as a bonus boomilever that does NOT hold the full 15 kg would be Tier 2 as a result?

Re: Boomilever B/C
That is an accurate reading of the rule as written. I do not believe that is the rule as intended. I think the intent was to say that you just don't get the bonus if you don't hold 15kg - not that you get tiered. I strongly suggest that you submit a clarification request at soinc.org for this one.

Re: Boomilever B/C
There is now a Rule Clarification posted about this:
https://www.soinc.org/if-boomilever-des ... est-wall-0
The clarification states that a boomilever that attempts the bonus, but fails to hold 15kg scores as a non-bonus boomilever and not as a tier 2 construction violation. I think this ought to be a rule correction, and not a clarification, because I agree with you about the rule as written, but regardless of that, the clarification successfully conveys that the intent is the thing that we all think makes sense, and should be binding on ES.

Re: Boomilever B/C
I am currently trying to make a decision regarding attempting the bonus for SciOly Boomilever division B. I have a strong compression beam weighing around 7.6 grams. I also have 2 tension members 1/16x3/32 and could not find the 1/16x1/8. Should I attempt the bonus?
