SciOly in Maryland is definitely very competitive. There are what I would call "squads" of multiple schools in the same area that are always competing against each other! My school and two of the other schools near us are always head to head, trying to beat one another, and this pumped everyone up so much, that our "squad" ranked first, second, and third in the state! I would definitely recommend competing in Maryland.
