Re: Entomology B/C
Hello!
This is a spin-off of the past two years' Forestry Community Test hosted by Scispork. This will be a public test made by you for both practice for yourself and others. If you have questions or comments, DM me (responses may be slow on Scioly.org). Based on the interest form sent out twice over the last few months, there is a good number of people interested in test writing. Format will be decided later.
Due date for sign-up will be 14 November 2024 12:00 CST.
Thank you
,
Dea

Re: Entomology B/C
Hey guys, I've never done Entomology before. I am overwhelmed looking at the list, I don't have a true eidetic memory or anything like that to help. I've thoroughly researched nearly half of the provided list. Any tips for this event? Thanks in advance

Re: Entomology B/C
Keep practising ID (via either quizlets, Bugbo discord bot for entomology, going outside and IDing bugs). Make sure you create a binder for all the orders/families too (with information such as diet, habitat, life cycle, etc). Take it one step at a time, and if you have a partner, don't be afraid to split the work. Definitely read the wiki page and the SOINC page for it (both have helpful resources). KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES WELL, especially the list. Good luck!Mathlete13 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 4:01 pm Hey guys, I've never done Entomology before. Re: Entomology B/C
Hey there Buggies!
This year's Entomology Community Test has just about wrapped up! With 14 separate contributors, we were able to create a test for all of Y'ALL to practice with. So much gratitude towards these great writers, and have fun!
P.S. If you want to mock it, there is a form at the end to submit your score and thoughts (I will release a standings chart post-season).
P.P.S. Look out for interests forms for next year's soon!
Anyways, here is the test:

Re: Entomology B/C
Totally not late but nope (as evidenced by nats this year)! Tests usually don't test sound; I would not worry too much about that.
If interested though, just go on YouTube and listen to insect sounds. Again, only if you want to/are interested; I personally just see it as something extra that isn't necessary for SciOly.
Anyway, I forgot to link this guide I created. Though the 2025 season is over, I hope people interested in doing Entomology for the 2026 season can still find it somewhat helpful, especially if they are just starting out. Happy studying!

Re: Entomology B/C
hey buggies!!
last year's entomology community test was, in my opinion, a success
as it is still pre-season, though a little later than last year, i am sending out the interest form if you want to perhaps take/write for it. even if you arent planning on writing, but may still come upon it, feel free to fill out the form!
whelp, stay bugging!
