I’ve been doing crime busters for 3 years and have medaled several times, but I want to know what more I should study for state. I’ve been to state multiple times, just relearning the same material but I would like more information on what else I can do to place at state. Thanks! Any help would be appreciated!! :D

I'm having trouble with the the differences between molecular formulas and chemical formulas. I partially understand the differences, but I'm not sure what type is listed in the SciOly Crime Busters article. I would like to know if there are any conventions or anything else I'll need to know. Thank you!

Probably just practice more. You can also have your partner set up some mixtures. I'm not sure about Texas, but our state tournament tends to include more fibers w/ burn tests, which may be something to practice/look in to if you haven't already! :D

Hi! As a state medaler (I don’t think that’s a word) we focused on time management and point value. The year we placed, powders were weighted really heavily so we focused on that. It varies from year to year so you can figure that out when the rules are released. Also make sure you get along with your partner and have a designated person in charge! Hope this helps and good luck!!

Prob just have to wait until the rules come out in September for the formulas.
